Saxons’ Powers, Maher selected for NFCA All-Region softball recognition
Maher wins awards, sets school records for hits, doubles, and RBIs
Nicole 'Coley" Maher set career records at AU for hits, doubles, and RBI's while a 4-year starter at SS. She was named Alfred University's Ideal Saxon along with teammate, Dana Torchia, for excelled academics and athletics (05.13.16)...recipient of the Muriel Strong Morley Award, Outstanding Female Athlete (05.13.16)...selected as an at large player to the NFCA Northeast All-Region Third Team (05.17.16)...named to the All-Empire 8 Second Team (05.11.16)...named a team captain...broke the school record in career doubles with 40 during the non-conference double-header against Penn College (04.19.16), topping last year's teammate, Allison Wickwire's record of 39...named Empire 8 Player of the Week (04.25.16)...broke the school record in career hits and career RBI's in the same week against Oswego State (04.27.16) in hits and in RBI's against St. John Fisher College (04.30.16)...total career doubles record is now 43...total career hits record is 178...total career RBI's record is now 126...earned GoSaxons.com Athlete of the Week (04.25.16)...played in 40 games with 38 starts...finished fifth on the team in batting with an average of .350...had 43 hits during her 123 at bats that included 11 doubles, two triples (tied for first with teammate Dana Torchia) and one home run...third on the team in RBI's with 26 while tying for second on the team in runs with 31...had three sacrificed hits...was 2-for-2 in stolen bases...second on the team in assists with 73...had 69 putouts. Nicole's major is biology and she plans to attend grad school and pursue a career in the medical field. Nicole enters her 4th year as an assistant coach for the Fillies organization.

Haley Powers First Team All-Conference Empire 8
Earned NFCA All-Region Second Team honors...named to Empire 8 All-Conference First Team (05.10.18)...Named the Empire 8 Softball Player of the Week (04.23.18)...finished tied for team-high .379 batting average...led AU in hits (44), runs (26), doubles (11), home runs (4), and walks (12) while adding 25 RBIs and six stolen bases...made 41 appearances, starting 40 games...finished second on the team with 63 assists while maintaining a .919 fielding percentage...completed career with 83 RBIs - ranking ninth all-time in AU history. Haley graduated as an athletic training major.

Fromal completes successful college career as dual sport athlete
Wesley dual-sport student-athlete Kayla Fromal graduated in 2016 as an exercise science major who is active on campus with a variety of clubs and activities. Kayla walked-on and made the powerhouse Salisbury Seagulls team her freshman year before transferring to Wesley. As a four-year member of both the field hockey and softball teams at Wesley, Fromal has kept quite busy during her time in Dover. She is currently in the National Society of Leadership chapter at Wesley College, the Vice President of the Wesley SAAC committee, and also a Student Ambassador. Kayla is an avid volunteer in the Special Olympics of Delaware and continues to play indoor and summer softball as well as field hockey. Congrats and best of luck #32!
Becca Alexander Empire 8 All-Conference
Becca completed her junior season playing OF for the Saxons. Named to Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team (05.10.18)...Named a Saxon of the Week (03.12.18)...named to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team (05.08.18)...played in 41 games making 41 starts...recorded 38 hits on 122 at-bats for a batting average of .311...tallied seven doubles, one triple and two homers while only striking out three times in 2018...had a team-high and conference-leading 31 RBIs. Becca's major is athletic training.
