The Fillies were created in 2008 with the primary goal of developing players and teaching them to play at a very competitive level in preparation for high school and college. The Fillies enters its 12th season in 2019 and has experienced success at all levels, including regional events, showcases, and national championships. Players learn the value of life lessons such as hard work, commitment, accountability, communication, teamwork, respect and good sportsmanship.
The Fillies participate in many of the top regional tournaments, including college showcase events for high school players, and all teams strive to qualify and play in nationals. Fillies’ teams have done well in regional and national events, including winning 3 National Championships and several finalists. The trophy wall on the website is dedicated to Fillies teams, and the alumni page is dedicated to players who have moved on to college.
The fall tournament schedule will begin in late September and continue through October and early November. Teams will practice two or three times a week in the greater Newark area. All teams will play scrimmages and tournaments in the fall, practice and train indoors through the winter, and then play an aggressive tournament schedule in the spring and summer. Commitment and support of the program is essential and also a top priority in the player selection process.
